Welcome. I see you're human; your kind doesn't come here often... Nonetheless I see that you are interested in our kind. No, you are not dreaming--and yes, we speak your language, so sit down, you've ventured far, and I am happy to tell you our tales.
Have you heard the stories of "Mario"? Yes; it is all true--except for the Mario and his brother saving "Miss Princess Apricot" from the oversized Koopa. I can see you are confused. You are thinking "But that's the whole story". Wrong. If you've taken the time to do the research, there were many other things. Basically the enemies and items. And us. If it weren't for "Those Little Green Dinosaurs"--as you labelled us--there wouldn't have been a happy ending. But as I said, there was no Mario. I bet you that half of our species wouldn't even want to help a plumber dressed in red.
They say we lived on "Yoshi Island", and we did, but no longer. We migrated here, to Myyoshi for now unknown reasons. Yes, Myyoshi, like "My Yoshi" but not. The first settlers named it that; after they claimed it to show that it was theirs. Why not "Yoshi's Territory", I do not know. Our kind is shrouded with secrets. As you've probably seen so far; this area is magical. It is crowded with much exotic plants and land masses; not to mention how abundant our prey is.
Oh? You want to learn more about us as a species? Alright then. Contrary to the original belief, we are not just green; but colorful--as portrayeed in your story "Yoshi's Island" I do believe. We are in fact omnivorous, but do not fear. Our diet consists of usually just Koopa, Shyguy, berries and whatever we can get our hands on. Otherwise, our types change our individual characteristics. Our town--despite some of our unpleasant residents--is quite orderly, kind and compassionate. Once again, yes, I did mention that most wouldn't be loyal, but that's towards humankind. With the lack of visitors in your species, a majority of our society has grown uncomfortable around people. We are extremely compassionate most of the time, as there are many younger Yoshi around. We have heard stories of your people, and found many similarites. Well, we have jobs, and there are some makeshift schools. We have ranks and currency and families. There's illness and houses, not to mention our general personality. We like to explore and discover, and are very curious.
So go along now, tell your friends about us. But keep Myyoshi's location secret. I bid you luck on your journey back across the seas, and thank you for listening to my story.
